Palm Beach Country Skywarn Changes Leadership

After 12-13 years as Palm Beach County Skywarn Coordinator, I have decided to step down and let someone else have the privilege to serve in this role.  I’ve enjoyed the role and all the people (HAMs and non-HAM’s) that I have met in the past 13 years.  It has also been a pleasure and privilege working with the National Weather Service personnel.  It has been rewarding working with an organization that truly values our contribution to public safety.
There have been over 1,000 people that have become new Skywarn member in Palm Beach County during this period and probably half again as many current Skywarn members retrained.  I will continue to support this organization and public service, in any way that I can, as available in the future.
Charles Benn WB2SNN has agreed to pick up the role of Skywarn Coordinator, effective January 1, 2018.   Between now and January 1, we will be working together on making a smooth transition.
Thanks everyone for your past support and hope to see even more active support of Palm Beach County  Skywarn in the future.
Maurice Dake, K9EE
Palm Beach County Skywarn Coordinator
