A reminder that our monthly meeting is coming up next Wednesday, January 25th, at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium located in West Palm Beach. Even though the meeting starts at 7pm, many people arrive a little earlier to partake of our Keurig Coffee and Costco Pastries. I promise a short business meeting before our presenter, Dr. John Stucka, N3JM, gives a timely talk on “FOXHUNTS”. This should be interesting since we’re getting ready for “big” Foxhunt, with great prizes, on Saturday morning, February 25. More information will be sent out several weeks before the event.
Kevin Jackson, W4JKJ, has asked me to remind you that the Jupiter Lighthouse Radio Group (JLRG), will be manning the radios for the Annual Lost 118 Endurance Run around Lake Okeechobee on February 11 and 12th. If you would like to help out, please contact Kevin at w4jkj@jlrg.com.
The Board of Directors, at their meeting last Sunday, agreed that with the upcoming change out of the Titanic Exhibit, and bringing in the New Sights and Sounds of Radio Exhibit, we desperately need upgraded radios. So, before we even discuss the purchase of new radios at the upcoming meeting on January 25th, we’re going to put on display prior to the meeting, for the Clubs paid up members, the large selection of radios that MAY be available shortly. The prices have not yet been established, but we guarantee that they’ll be lower than similar radios that are being offered on E Bay. So, if you’re interested in purchasing some gear, try arriving prior to the meeting getting started, to take a look. Remember, they’re NOT for sale yet, but MAY be on the market shortly.
I hope to see a large, hungry group at Tom Sawyers Country Restaurant this coming Sunday morning. Otherwise, I hope to see you at the meeting next Wednesday evening. We’ll have some great door prizes
Jerry Grant
